The swarming season is definitely slowing down! Once again, there weren’t very many swarms over the past week. Interestingly, nearly all of the reports you see here were from a single day, Wednesday:
USA:
Oak Hill, WV
Blythewood, SC
Hernando, FL
Atlanta, GA
Flowery Branch, GA
Cumming, GA
Piedmont, SC
Greer, SC (2 reports)
Charlotte, NC (2 reports)
Toccoa, GA
Landrum, SC
Island of Palm, SC
Denver, NC
Ocracoke , NC
Apparently there was one little burst of activity centered over a few southern states. According to reports I’ve seen concerning the monarch migration, it sounds like the migrations are starting late this year. I suspect I’ll get a few more reports before the true end of the swarming season, especially as I got a few into the first weeks of November last year. Still, I’m starting to work on maps and sifting through the 1110 reports I’ve received so far. The big year-end report is coming soon so I want to get a head start!
