Well-Nigh Wordless Wednesday: A Month of BugShot Photos!

Because a few of you have expressed an interest in my sharing some more photos from BugShot 2011, I’m going to feature them on Well-Nigh Wordless Wednesday all month!  First up, a spreadwing damselfly from the genus Lestes:

Lestes damselfly

Lestes (and other genera in the family Lestidae) are large damselflies that hold their wing slightly apart when they rest.  They’ve often got metallic coloring, so they come in some pretty amazing bronze, green, and blue colors.  I think they’re beautiful!
