I love the way caddisflies hide in their cases when disturbed, and how they slowly peek out when they seem sure the “predator” has moved away. For example…

He reminds me of the hermit crab!
They kinda do look like hermit crabs! And insects are most closely related to crustaceans too, so there’s a reason for thay. But caddisflies build their cases rather than scavenging them, so they’re not quite the same as hermit crabs – apart from being equally cute, that is. :)
