You know when the best time to catch dragonflies is? When they’re swarming! Check it out:
I caught this one on the first swipe. A miracle! Then I let him go. I really just wanted to see if I could catch one, and having proved that, I didn’t really need to keep him. What a stunning animal!

What a neat picture. Great color and lots of detail!
Thanks! I took it with my iPhone. I’m constantly impressed by what it is capable of doing.
He doesn’t look too happy to being petted like that. :-)
Perhaps not! But at least I didn’t gas him and add him to my collection. And he bit me as I let him go. :)
He bit you? So, I was right! By the way, I photographed a huge back moth last night. It posed on my driveway’s ceiling. I have to download the photo and then blog about it so can have a look, if you want. I wonder what kind it would be!
Ha ha! Yes! He gave me a little nip before he flew away. I probably deserved it. :) And I’ll be sure to check out your moth photo. It sounds fabulous!
Here it is, I have blogged about the gigantic black moth I saw. :-) http://mcolmo.wordpress.com/2012/10/11/giant-black-moth/
